What Parents Have to Say

Letter from the Parent of a former student

Last year, my daughter participated in daily gratitude  journal writing, meditation, and different service projects in her 3rd grade classroom. Nearly every day, she came home excited to share these practices. The gratitude journal enabled  her to articulate her appreciation towards different things that people helped her with and she gained an awareness and appreciation for things both big and small.  She also gained a great deal from participating in service projects where she was able to connect with the larger community and in her words “help people in need.” Even now, beyond 3rd grade, my child still journals and revels in helping others!

I can’t say enough good things about the reflective practices that Ms. Chiong does with her students; she is instilling an awareness of the importance of giving back and being a responsible and caring member of the community.  I believe that this sense of compassion being fostered at such a young age will be an experience that these children will never forget—thank you, Ms. Chiong!

What Campers Have to Say

"Campassion was an amazing experience. It made me dig deeper and notice how awesome it feels to help others. Every second of it was so exciting and I couldn't get enough of it! I believe that the whole two weeks of Campassion made me a better person and I am so grateful for that." - Caitlin, fourth grader
