There's nothing like it! It's not just a camp—it's a joyful and engaged way of life. The reflective and mindful practices encourage children to be present and self-aware. The campers become in tune with their communities, grow out of their comfort zones, and are empowered to do something that they care about! Research, donation drives, outreach, fun—these kids see themselves as true DO-ers in the community. The amazing opportunities and partnerships that campers experience are life-changing. This dynamic, caring environment that Kathleen has cultivated is one that my child has truly enjoyed and will never stop benefitting from.
As a parent, I was blown away by Campassion. My child came home talking about kindness, gratitude, and how even small acts of service matter. One of his favorite moments was realizing how good it felt to help someone else. Campassion gave him tools to slow down, reflect, and feel proud of who he is, and I've seen that confidence carry over into everyday life.
My daughter participated in gratitude journaling, meditation, and different service projects with Ms. Chiong. She came home excited to share these practices. The gratitude journal helped her recognize and appreciate things both big and small, while the service projects gave her an opportunity to connect with the larger community and, in her words, 'help people in need.'
Even years later, she continues to journal and finds so much joy in helping others. I can't say enough good things about the reflective practices Ms. Chiong incorporates with children. She instills an understanding of the importance of giving back and being a responsible, caring member of the community. I believe fostering this sense of compassion at such a young age creates an experience children will carry with them for years to come.

Campassion was an amazing experience. It made me dig deeper and notice how awesome it feels to help others. Every second of it was so exciting and I couldn't get enough of it! I believe that the whole two weeks of Campassion made me a better person and I am so grateful for that.
The projects at Campassion weren't just fun — they really mattered. Learning about who we were helping and going on field trips made helping feel important and real. Making things like blankets for shelters and birthday boxes for infants made me feel like I was actually helping the community.
